This island, with beautiful sandy beaches fringed with green canopy of the rain forest beckons every one to enjoy the fun at the azure sea. Vijaynagar beach, 5 Kms. away from the jetty on the eastern side and Elephant beach, 10 Kms. from the jetty (including trekking through the forest) on the north western part of the island are other breathtaking beaches. The Tourism Department organizes Island camping (tented accommodation) during the tourist season at Radha Nagar beach. One can enjoy thestay right on the seashore by hearing the lulls of the solacing sea in this camp.

It is used for breathing air from above the water surface when the wearer's mouth and nose are submerged.

Neil is a tiny but beautiful island located 37 Kms. to the south of the Andaman Islands. With unexplored coral reefs, brilliant bio-diversity, white sandy beaches and tropical forest and vegetation, it is one of the hot tourist spots in the Andamans. The island, with its very relaxed vibes and long, deserted beaches is a place to chill out after the "bustle" of Havelock. The widest part of the island is about 5 km in length. You can walk the whole island in about two hours.

How To Reach

From Port Blair Phoenix Bay jetty, regular speed boats operated by Government and Private Boat operators are available. Time taken is approx. one hour and 45 minutes.

Diglipur (325 Kms., approx. 12 hrs by road from Port Blair) Situated in North Andaman Island, Diglipur provides a rare experience for eco friendly tourists. Kalipur Beach and Turtle Nesting Ground : Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also home to thousands of turtles during their nesting period. During the winter months of Dec/Jan, Turtle Nesting takes place at Kalipur beach and Ramanagar Beach at Diglipur

Twin Islands: Ross and Smith islands are actually two islands – Ross and Smith joined together by a sand bar to make a single group of islands. Ross and Smith Islands requires forest permit from the Forest Office at Diglipur.

Ramnagar Beach: Ramnagar Beach is a shrine beautiful beach located at a distance of 70 kms from Mayabunder, This beach is suitable for swimming. A nature trail for trekkers is an added attraction. This beach is well known for turtle nesting.

How To Reach

Diglipur is connected by boat from Port Blair and Mayabunder,Port Blair - Diglipur boat services are available twice a week.Kalighat is also well connected by daily two boat services from Mayabunder.

Tourist Attractions In Baratang

Lime Stone Caves : Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed at the bottom of the sea. It is formed by the compression over millions of years of the gradual deposits of many ingredients such as marine life, shells, skeletons and corals.

Mud Volcano : A mud volcano is created by natural gases emitted by decaying organic matter underground. As the mud is pushed upwards by the gas, it deposits and hardens above the ground. As more mud oozes out and spills over the edge it grows in size, gradually forming a miniature volcano with rich, creamy mud crater at the top.

Parrot Island : This is a small uninhabited island located near Baratang Jetty. What makes it attractive for tourists is the mystery that this island holds which calls thousands of parrots every evening.

How To Reach

Baratang is 100 kms away from Port Blair. One has to travel by road and cross a creek on a vehicle ferry at Middle Strait to reach Baratang.

White Surf waterfall which is 6.5 kms from Hut Bay Jetty in the midst of the evergreen rainforest is an ideal picnic spot.The waterfall is big and true to its name – Whit Surf. The sight of white foamy water streaming down a small hill is worth watching. The entire place is covered with lush green forests and is ideal for nature lovers.

Oil Palm Plantation : Little Andaman is famous for its Red Oil Palm Plantation run by ANIFPDCL, 11-km from the jetty.Tourist can visit the plantation as well as the factory and see the different stages of oil palm fruit production and oil extraction.

How To Reach

Government ferries run by the Directorate of Shipping Services connect Phoenix Bay jetty/Haddo Wharf, Port Blair to Hut Bay, Little Andaman every day. The journey takes about 7 to 9 hours.
